This is view of the village of Oia, from the white washed traditional cave studio where we stayed while in Santorini.

While in Santorini, we enjoyed one of the many black volcanic sand beaches.  Here, just prior to dropping their shorts and flinging them to the shore (for the au natural experience favored by many others), Rich and Lou head to the sea.

Andrea enjoys the sun and the rhythmic sound of the surf from the sensible shade of an umbrella.

Oia at sunset.  As you can see, the villages of Santorini often sit precariously atop cliffs, with homes spilling gently down the cliff face towards the sea below.  It provides for a dramatic setting with stunning views.

Oia is also famous for its sunsets.  In fact, some say it is the best place in the world from which to watch the setting of the sun.  Each evening, busloads of tourists would descend upon the small village for the sole purpose of taking in the sun's fall.  It was quite a site.

The group, in s self-portrait, enjoys their final sunset together on Santorini.

Following sunset, we met our friend, Manos (seated in the center), who took us to a local restaurant and treated us all (by surreptitiously paying the bill) to an absolutely fantastic meal.  In fact, dinner with Manos and his friends became a regular thing.

The Amoudi port sits at the bottom of the hillside town of Oia.  We came here one evening with our friends, Manos, Connie, Christos and David  for delicious Greek wine and appetizers after the French victory of the World Cup.

Island living is addictive.  Rich and I stayed on Santorini for 6 days.
