Bangkok Photos
Up

After returning to Chiang Mai from our Hill Tribe trek, almost immediately we boarded an overnight bus for the ride to Bangkok, where we would be staying for 3 days before heading to Cambodia.

Bangkok is home to innumerable Wats, which are essentially compounds of Buddhist worship, consisting of temples, monasteries, and the like.  Here Rich walks about Wat Suthat.

Wat Arun, or Temple of the Dawn, sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

The Royal Hotel served as our home during our time in Bangkok.  As the third oldest hotel in Bangkok, it definitely possessed a historical elegance--and all for less than $30 a night (yes, it was a splurge).

More than 60km to the west of Bangkok is the town of Damnoen Saduak and its very picturesque floating market.  As a small city of canals, or khlongs, much of the town's commerce is conducting from boats such as the one seen here.
